In 2020, Ontario had 48.7 Mha of natural forest, extending over 45% of its land area. In {year}, it lost 329 kha of natural forest, equivalent to 194 Mt of CO₂ emissions.

The Spatial Database of Planted Trees (SDPT) is a global, living database of planted forest and tree crop boundaries aimed at differentiating planted trees from natural forests. The next version is in development, and we are seeking recommendations for planted forest or tree crop data sets that could strengthen the database &#8211; <a href="https://gfw.global/4ijTAb1">fill out this form</a> to share your input. Your feedback will help enhance the database on GFW and ensure it evolves with the best available data.
